This course covers all the skills and theory you would encounter on a course out West. Our introduction to mountaineering course will give you a solid foundation in mountaineering skills such as self/team-arrest, crevasse rescue, ice anchors, use of crampons, use of axes, long/short rope techniques, glacier travel as well as navigating in a white out. Located just an hour from Toronto, this is a convenient location to learn your skills before venturing out on a more advanced course or expedition. This program can also be modified for a private lesson for your specific trip.
Recommended prerequisites: Top rope anchors, Self-rescue, and Introduction to Ice climbing (or equivalent experience)
