This outdoor lead climbing course is designed for indoor lead climbers wanting to make the transition to outdoor lead climbing. This full day course will teach you the essential skills needed to safety lead climb outdoors on bolted routes, including how to lower and rappel off the finish bolts, how to bail off a route, tips for cleaning your route, using a stick-clip to clip the first bolt and how to stick-clip past a crux while on the climb. We will also cover safety tips for unique situations you might experience while leading and belaying outdoors. This course is taught on lead climbs bolted for this specific course to ensure the best learning experience possible.
Recommended prerequisite: Indoor lead climbing qualified (or equivalent experience).
Multi Pitch course – This full day course is designed for those wishing to move into multi-pitch lead climbing. This course will teach you all the skills needed to make the transition into multi pitch climbing on bolted routes. Hanging belays, belaying from the anchors, rope management and multi-pitch rappelling techniques will be covered in detail. Choosing the proper route, belay/rappel device and rope length will be discussed. This course is taught on lead climbs bolted for this specific course to ensure the best learning experience possible.
